State Attorney General: Investigation Led to NY Conservative Party Vice Chair's Guilty Plea for Theft of Committee Funds

A longtime deputy of a Conservative Party in New York's Finger Lakes region pleaded guilty to unlawfully taking more than $16,000 from the political committee, the state Attorney General's Office said in a news statement on Thursday.

Jason McGuire, vice chairman of a Livingston County Conservative Party—and who doubles as vice chairman of the New York State Conservative Party's Executive Committee—pled guilty to two misdemeanor counts of offering a false instrument for filing in the second degree.
